Care homes are recognised
FIVE private residential homes in the borough have been recognised for excellence and quality of care.
The group were among more than 40 centres across the county to receive Quality Assessment Framework (QAF) awards.
It marks the efforts staff and operators make to ensure residents enjoy a comfortable and supportive environment, ensure effective staff training and offer a range of activities.
Positive outcomes for people receiving the care are also part of the success measure. Homes are graded at gold, silver or bronze level by Leicestershire County Council.
The authority has also awarded Dignity in Care accolades to homes and day services which support people with a learning disability, and who provide a service which emphasises dignity and respect.
Award recipients from Hinckley and Bosworth are Charnwood Park, Barwell; Harvey House, Barwell; The Limes, Hinckley; Orchard House, Market Bosworth and Parkhouse Grange, Earl Shilton.
Councillor Richard Blunt, the county council’s cabinet member for adult social care, said: “Ensuring high quality care and support is being delivered by care homes is a council priority as it also provides important reassurance to relatives and friends. I want to congratulate all the winners.”
The awards were presented by Cllr Kevin Feltham, support member to Cllr Blunt.
