The Great Gatsby is being performed at the Concordia by the Broughton Astley Drama Society. The glittering decadence of America’s Jazz Age is brought to life in this stage adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s masterpiec­e. Seen through the eyes of Nick Carraway, the story recreates the sights, sounds and feel of America’s ‘Roaring Twenties’ in a brilliant evocation of a society obsessed with wealth and status.

The Actress is a New Theatre Players Studio production. A funny and poignant new comedy, by Peter Quilter. The Actress dramatises the events backstage as a colourful, complicate­d woman makes her farewell performanc­e, while dealing with the unexpected arrival of her infuriatin­g ex-husband.

November 7 -18

The Concordia AOS performs Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. It tells the story of two ex-army pals as they team up with a pair of sisters to put on a show to save a remote Vermont ski lodge that’s fallen on hard times. Mix mischief, romance and misunderst­andings, blend in some of the greatest songs ever written, including Sisters, Blue Skies and the renowned White Christmas, then add spectacula­r dance routines and costumes and you have the recipe for a wonderfull­y entertaini­ng show.

The Pantomime Company presents Robinson Crusoe and the Pirates of the Pacific. It will be twenty years since the company last told the tale of ‘Robinson Crusoe’ – this new production will have a distinctly South American feel as we base the show in Old Brazil!
