Builders looking pretty in pink

-

BUILDERS in Burbage bade farewell to traditional hard hats and hi-vis, wearing instead bright pink PPE in support of breast cancer awareness.

Site teams at The Spinney development from David Wilson Homes swapped the usual orange gear for the candy floss coloured protective clothing as part of the Wear it Pink campaign from Breast Cancer Now.

They joined other construction crews and sales staff across Leicestershire in doing their bit for the initiative which aims to boost funds and increase knowledge.

Nearly £2 million is raised every year by Wear it Pink supporters, which funds cutting-edge research to help the 50,000 women and 350 men diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK.

Jason Hearn, sales director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “We are very happy to be supporting wear it pink for breast cancer awareness and I think our construction team have a lot of fun getting to wear pink PPE for the day.”

David Wilson Homes is currently building numerous developments across Leicestershire including The Spinney. It will also launch a range of properties at its New Lubbesthorpe development later in the year.
