Join us in our fight for pension justice
I would like to reply to Sue Mitchell regarding the increase in the State Pension Age.
I am a WASPI lady (Women Against State Pension Inequality) I too, was affected by the 2 State Pension Age Acts of 1995 and 2011.
Sue can join her local Waspi group, or go on on to www.waspi. co.uk/action and write to the DWP about their maladministration of the 2 pension acts.
She could also join her local Waspi group by emailing waspileicesterhinckley@ gmail.com and get involved locally to try to right this gross injustice.
There online is also an government petition she could sign to secure another debate in Parliament about this unfairness.
We have a lady in our group who is still having to work even though she is over 60 and has a terminally ill husband.
She should be at home spending quality time with him.
If she gives up her job and her husband passes away, who is going to employ a lady over 60, when there are younger people applying for jobs.
The local couple were featured on ITV last night (19th October)
Men had more notice of a one year change in their state pension age, where 3.5 million women didn’t have enough notice of a six year change, and consequently didn’t have time to make the necessary financial arrangements.
I find myself affected by both the Pension Acts.
I have a friend born in March 1953 and she received her pension aged 63, yet I was born in March 1954 and have to wait until I am 65 and a half!!
How can one year add an extra two-anda-half years to a state pension age and be said to be fair?
