College is top for training
EMPLOYERS who work with North Warwickshire and Hinckley College have given it the thumbs up for the quality of staff and training.
In a national survey some 89% of the firms who work with the organisation to train apprentices and other workers said they would recommend its services to other organisations. This tops the national average rating for all training providers of 86%.
The college’s results place it top of 14 providers in the East Midlands and fourth out of 24 in the West Midlands.
This is a climb of 100 places during the year since NWHC merged with federation partners, South Leicestershire College.
The annual survey, conducted by the Education and Skills Funding Agency, measures the performance of all college and training providers throughout the UK. It follows impressive results from a student satisfaction survey.
Marion Plant, principal and chief executive, said: “We work with some of the most significant employers in the region including the NHS Jungheinrich, Witherslack Group and Next. We want to equip these companies with the skills they need to compete as the UK economy consolidates its recovery.
“It is important to us that these organisations have the confidence to trust us with their training requirements. We do this by adapting to their ways of working and standards. Our team is very flexible and highly professional, and these results show that we are making great progress.
The survey asked employers to rate their satisfaction with the professionalism of college staff, the flexibility of the training and the overall quality. The college also does its own regular audits.
