Hinckley Times

Back Brexit

-

I have submitted many letters to The Hinckley Times in the past. This one will be my last. Could someone point me in the direction of care in the community. I have not found it yet. This year will be the first time I will have to spend Christmas on my own. My wife is in the LRI waiting to go into yet another care home. After 52 years of marriage, I’m finding it very hard and lonely on my own. Christmas Day is her birthday. Now come on, how would you feel?

I’ve been offered to spend Christmas Day to have dinner at my local pub The Weavers Arms. Many thanks to them but my heart would not be in it. Maybe next year. When will Leicestershire County Council find a care home fit for purpose that can cope with the needs of my wife?

I do know some support services in Leicestershire and Rutland do their best the the money they have from the Government and do care with dignity and respect. Merry Christmas to those that do. God bless all you Hinckley Times readers and a happy new year to you. Foe those in the same boat as me, don’t worry. I have a letter to the Hinckley and Bosworth MP, does he care? Colin Pratt, Hinckley THIS is a poster picture from a First World War 2018 calendar. Perhaps some of your readers would like to give this quote from 1915 some thought and leave the politics to the politicians.

It matters not what you put in a local paper it will make not the slightest difference. Surely there are more local issues that can be debated instead of the usual boring same old political moans that we keep reading over and over again. Perhaps if we can’t all stand together as a nation and back Brexit for once, then maybe there are are those who should put up and shut up.

By the way there is a local fox hole that is empty! I am sure there is someone to fill it, after all he did promise to go to ground a while back, damn those pesky hounds must have flushed him out and never caught him. Lynne
