Hinckley ladies look for positives after heavy defeat

-

LAST weekend saw Hinckley Ladies FC visiting Cosby at their ground in Countesthorpe.

The first half showed some excellent passing, moving and communication between the players.

Everyone battled for the ball and more than deserved to be on an equal footing with the opposition.

Both teams were evenly matched but with neither side taking their chances when opportunities arose.

In the second half, HLFC lost their shape and didn’t work effectively as a team.

There were positives in that the ladies gained some composure late on and had a couple of decent chances but, unfortunately, it came a little too late.

Steph Foster stepped up in goal this week, performed brilliantly and was named the opposition’s player of the match.

Holly Robson did a great job in defence after being asked to change positions early on.

She stood tall and adjusted superbly to the change.

Symone Jones came on nearing the end of the second half.

She played a few super balls into the box that deserved a greater end result than a 7-0 defeat.

Finally is the coach’s player of the match.

This week was based on an individual’s drive and determination to try something new to make a difference.

Amanda Moore tried her best to make a difference in the second half and played your heart out more than ever before this season. For that reason, she received the award this week.
