Table tennis cup draws announced

CAT A gave under-strength league leaders Goons a fright in their recent Hinckley Table Tennis Division One fixture.

Barry Taylor (Cat A) took Lucky Obi’s (Goons) unbeaten record beating him 11-7 in the fifth game. Cat A continued their good form by beating their Cat D by 10 sets to nil.

Although Andy spring (Cat D) can count himself very unlucky not to have on at least one set. He lost in four game set to Alex Mason going down 11-13 in the fourth. He came even closer against Rhys Emery losing 7-11 in the fifth before going down 8-11 also in the fifth to Pete Jamieson; sometimes it’s just not your day.

Barlestone A inflicted an 8 sets to 2 defeat on Cat B. Steve Adams(Cat B) injuring himself whilst playing Charlie Bateman (Bar A), he carried on going down 7-11 in the fifth before having to call it a day and forfeit his game with Phil Jones.

Cat C showed no mercy to G Ward E defeating them by 9 sets to 1. Both Andy Spring and John Winsper (both Cat C) took maximums. G Ward E faired a bit better in their next match against their own GWB team collecting four sets in their fight to avoid relegation.

All three GWE players won one game each plus the doubles only losing by 6 sets to 4. Both Danny & Bob Whittaker (both GWB) winning all their games.

GWB kept up the winning streak with a fine 8 sets to 2 win over Queen’s Mira, Clive Stretton (GWB) taking his three sets

G Ward A led by maximum man Jason Essex took a good win over Cat B by 9 sets to 1.
