Goose panto takes flight to the Civic Hall
Concordia Youth members taking show on the road
ACTORS who have honed their craft at Hinckley’s Concordia theatre are taking centre stage in a pantomime across the county border.
Concordia Youth Theatre members, former John Cleveland College pupils Lydia Kate Norton and Josh Smith have lead roles in Mother Goose, which is running at The Civic Hall in Bedworth until Friday December 29.
Miss Norton is appearing as Heidi the Goose while Mr Smith plays The Baron in the show which has been produced and directed by Miss Norton’s father Tim Norton, from Burbage.
More than 20 shows are to be staged at the High Street venue before the curtain falls for the final time.
Mr Norton said: “I believe we have a pantomime to be proud of and one which our patrons will enjoy.
“It’s full of wonderful songs and dance routines and we have some excellent special effects which will leave audiences enthralled.’’
Mother Goose, written by Ben Crocker, is performed by The Civic Hall Pantomime Company and features Jourdan Amelia Storey as Freya, Steve Kray as Mother Goose, Scott Livingstone as Gonk, Eva Crawford as Smorg and Brandon Gale as Sven.
Maria Morrison is Fairy Aurora and The Face of the Clock, while Benjamin Powell plays The Grand High Snow Goose and The Moose.
Stage manager Simon Farndon said: “A pantomime of this size involves a great deal of technical expertise.
“It’s a real team effort, and I am proud to say that everyone is pulling together to make sure we have a first class show.’’
