Does anyone know what the Clinical Commissioning Group is?

-

I wonder what percentage of readers know what a CCG is. A Clinical Commissioning Group. Any the wiser? Under the terms of the Tory-Lib Dem inspired Health And Social Care Act of 2010, such groups were set up to buy in services for the NHS and to decide how shrinking budgets should be spent, and - significantly - how services might be rationed or even denied altogether.

In many areas the local CCG has rationed or denied access to, for example, podiatry and IVF. GPs are often involved with CCGs and members of the public can be consulted - if they have the time - but there is mounting evidence that directors and shareholders of private companies which win NHS contracts are also involved, signalling a clear conflict of interest and whiff of corruption.

Under the terms of said act, the Secretary of State For Health no longer has overall responsibility for health and care provision, creating the neat illusion that such devolution of powers is “democratic.” In reality, it is an example of the usual Tory cynicism and hypocrisy - so that if you have to wait longer and longer for elective surgery - or have to pay for it, (Jeremy Hunt) can hold up his hands and say - “Nothing to do with me, guv, it’s “your” CCG!

Don’t like it? Your fault, for “not getting involved”. Equally seriously, due to the outsourcing of services (privatisation) to companies like G4S, extra administrative costs have risen, via even conservative estimates, by £5 billion. Many of these companies evade tax, donate cash to the Tory Party and have Tory MPs on their executive boards.

This parallels the endemic corruption in the “academisation” of schools where the commissioning of training services, for example, is approved by governors or even head teachers with links to training companies. What would you like to say in reply, Mr Tredinnick? Or are you too busy looking at your horoscope? The scope of the Tory Party to create more horror - stealthily - grows exponentially with the spread of political ignorance and political illiteracy due to apathy and the influence of the Tory Press. Welcome to Rip-Off Britain, Tory style.
