Larks in Transit for comedian Bill Bailey
BILL Bailey, the veteran of alternative comedy, is back in town in early 2018 as part of his new tour.
Performing at De Montfort Hall for two nights in late February 2018, the stand-up will recollect 20 years worth of tales from his life as a travelling comedian in his new tour ‘Larks in Transit’.
Keeping tradition to Bailey’s previous standup shows, the Never Mind The Buzzcocks star will intertwine his come- dic tales into a musical masterpiece, similar to his former sketches ‘Cockney Rock’ and ‘Unisex Chip Shop’.
Bailey’s popularity including songs in his stand-up performances encouraged petitions in 2008 from several fans for the funnyman to enter himself as Britain’s entree for the Eurovision Song Contest- his Associateship Diploma from the London College of Music would have been put to great use there.
Alongside being a trained classical musician and an award-winning comedian, expect Bailey to include his experiences being a political activist and philosopher, hilariously undertaking difficult subject matters in the Larks in Transit tour.
The show will contain stories and events significant to Bailey’s life, including coverage of Brexit, Trump and an embarrassing encounter the Somerset-born comedian had whilst meeting with the former Beatle, Paul McCartney.
But don’t expect cheap gags from Bailey when he discusses the overly-joked political matters- the comedian can promise an alternative, intellectual approach to what are already easy subject to get a quick laugh from!
Bailey will be playing at De Montfort Hall at 20:00 on March 26th and 27th, 2018.
Tickets are priced at £27.50 and are available from the venue’s website.
