Comic Manford all in a muddle

-

JASON Manford is back with a bang after taking an almost four-year hiatus from the tour bus.

His new tour ‘ Muddle Class’ will be shown across the UK.

De Montfort Hall will have the pleasure of hosting the Mancunian funnyman’s show on March 15 2018.

During his time away from touring, Manford worked with Decca Records and released the album ‘A Different Stage’, in October.

The album is composed fully of Manford’s favourite show tunes that he sings for 40 minutes.

The somewhat surprising venture from the man best-known for his witty comedy and acting was a long-awaited dream of his. Manford said: “I always thought I’d probably be a singer rather than a standup, but that’s just the way it happened.

“I’ve been singing since I was a little boy”.

As an outcome of his time away from the Northern stand-up scene and more time in the West End, starring in productions, including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!, Manford has been left conflicted as to whether his roots as a working-class Northern chap have become twisted into a middle-class mindset.

The cleverly titled tour, ‘Muddle Class’, explains the struggle Manford faced to stay loyal to his Manchester heritage.

He hilariously recalls his experiences getting older and wanting the finer things in life, despite the fact his parents “haven’t changed a bit”.

The tour’s first stop will start at the Leeds Town Hall on January 24 2018.

After taking a trip across the UK, the tour will finish back up North at Liverpool’s Philharmonic on May 26 2018.

The 8 Out Of 10 Cats star will be appearing at De Montfort Hall at 7.30pm on March 15 next year.

Tickets are priced £27.50. at
