New social group is all set to launch next week

-

A NEW social group will meet in Hinckley for the first time on Tuesday January 9.

Cornerstone is being set up jointly by the Pathways Centre at Hinckley Baptist Church and Age UK Leicestershire and Rutland for adults looking for a welcoming and safe place to meet friends and make new ones.

It will meet every Tuesday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm in the Pathways Centre on Baptist Walk.

Individuals, friends and partners are all welcome as well as people with their carers.

There will be tea, coffee and cakes, the chance to just sit and chat, or to play games, learn a new hobby or go along and share one.

The group is being backed by the Big Lottery Fund and the launch event is to be attended by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council’s executive lead member for health and wellbeing, Councillor Maureen Cook and the authority’s strategic and community planning officer Edwina Grant.

Admission will be £3.50 per person or £6 for a person accompanied by a carer on launch day and £3.75 per person at subsequent meetings.
