A PUB in Burbage is closing its doors later this week, with special offers on drinks as stock must go.

The Cross Keys in Hinckley Road is closing on Thursday January 4, just under four months after it was taken on by new owners.

All drinks are selling for just £2 over the next two days as the pub works to whittle down its stock.

The pub said on its Facebook page: “Sad to say that we will be closing the Cross Keys in Burbage on Thursday 4th of January.

“It’s been a great time up here in Burbage and we have appreciate­d all of your support!”

The popular venue was re-launched by business partners Daniel Keicher and David Leith in September 2017, after it sud- denly before.

The new landlords owned a chain of pubs, mostly in the South West, and promised to revamp the Cross Keys’ beer garden and food offering.

It is one of 27 pubs across the county currently looking for a new tenant, requiring an initial investment of £29,410 and a rent of £38,250 to run the Chartwell Arms, Wigston Agents say: “The Chartwell Arms is an estate-style pub is located in close proximity to a highly-populated housing area and an affluent trading estate.

“The Chartwell comprises of two spacious trading areas.

“The first area is utilised as a dining zone with well-maintained furniture throughout and the second is used predominat­ely for drinking with a pool table.
