County police take on new recruits
YOU could be the newest law enforcement officer patrolling the streets of Hinckley.
Leicestershire Police is recruiting around 125 police officers over the next two years, with applications welcome from people of all backgrounds.
The force is particularly keen to boost its numbers of women and black and minority ethnic officers, as well as candidates from the LGBT community.
Police officers typically work 8, 10 or 12-hour shifts and come into contact with a wide variety of people.
They are expected to act with integrity at all times, even when out of uniform.
Simon Cole, chief constable for Leicestershire Police, said: “Protecting our communities in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland is a privilege and demands a wide range of skills and competencies.
