County police take on new recruits

YOU could be the newest law enforcemen­t officer patrolling the streets of Hinckley.

Leicesters­hire Police is recruiting around 125 police officers over the next two years, with applicatio­ns welcome from people of all background­s.

The force is particular­ly keen to boost its numbers of women and black and minority ethnic officers, as well as candidates from the LGBT community.

Police officers typically work 8, 10 or 12-hour shifts and come into contact with a wide variety of people.

They are expected to act with integrity at all times, even when out of uniform.

Simon Cole, chief constable for Leicesters­hire Police, said: “Protecting our communitie­s in Leicester, Leicesters­hire and Rutland is a privilege and demands a wide range of skills and competenci­es.
