Trio of babies born on December 25

-

A TRIO of special deliveries arrived to bring extra joy to new parents over the festive period.

Three babies were born before breakfast time on Christmas Day at the maternity unit at george Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton.

Baby Abigail was the first to arrive at 12.40am weighing 5lbs 9.5oz, before her due date but in time to go home for Christmas dinner with mum and dad Harla and Stephen Monkman.

Delighted mum Harla said:“Everyone really looked after me and I would especially like to thank my midwife Tanya Middleton who was brilliant throughout.

“I am looking forward to going home to Christmas dinner though. We prepared it yesterday in advance.”

Abigail was closely followed by baby Mason Middlecott at 1.20am (8lb 0.5oz) and later by baby Skyler HughesMarriott (6lb 3.5oz) at 7.50am.

One of the midwives at George Eliot Hospital, Laura Cawston, had a surprise baby herself on Christmas Eve. She gave birth herself to a beautiful baby boy but hasn’t decided on a name yet.

Fifteen dedicated midwifery and neonatal nurses were working hard in the unit to look after the babies in the maternity hospital and special care baby unit. They also kindly provided the babies with little gifts and hats to mark this special festive occasion.
