Reach for the stars at spectacular beauty spot

-

STARGAZING enthusiasts are being invited to watch the night skies at one of Leicestershire’s most loved beauty spots.

Experts from the Leicester Astronomical Society will gather at Bradgate Park on Saturday, February 24, and Saturday, March 24, to view constellations and other interstellar wonders.

Describing the event, a spokesperson for Bradgate Park Trust said: “This will be a chance to look at constellations and discover more about the night sky with some of the county’s most knowledgeable enthusiasts.”

Each event will start at 7.30pm and guests are asked to arrive slightly before 7pm.

Attendees will be met at the front gates of the park and be directed to a “telescope area” on a meadow by the park’s ruins.

There will be a small number of telescopes provided for use.

The ticket price for the event is £5 and this is payable on the evening. It is suitable for children aged 11 plus. Dogs are not permitted to attend. Customer parking can be found at Newtown Linford car park for £4 pay and display.

Places can be reserved by calling 0116 2362713 then requesting extension 25.

These will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Due to the nature of the weather all people that reserve a place are asked to check the Bradgate Park Trust facebook page for cancellation notices.

These will be posted no later than 6.15pm on the day.
