POLICE have confirmed the identity of a man who was found dead in Hinckley last week.

Kyle Darlison, 25, was reported missing on January 5, and his body was found by a member of the public in a field near Drake Way in the afternoon of January 30.

Leicestershire Police said: “Initial enquiries have been conduct- ed and the death is not being treated as suspicious.

“A file has been prepared for the coroner.”

Police, paramedics and the fire service all attended the initial finding of the body on January 30 at around 4.20pm.

A spokesman for the force said: “A member of the public reported what they believed to be a body of a man in a field near Drake Way.

“The call came in at 4.20pm, we attended the area and confirmed that there was a body of a deceased man in the field.

“It is not being treated as suspicious and we’ve conducted our initial inquiries.”

One resident said the area was “very busy” that afternoon and there were “at least 5 police cars and a fire engine on scene”.

Another nearby resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “It’s usually a really quiet area so it’s unusual to see any of the emergency services about.”

Mr Darlison was last seen by friends shortly after Christmas and was reported as missing by his family on January 5.

A statement from Leicestershire Police published on January 18 said there were growing concerns for his health “due to uncertainty about whether he has access to daily medication which he requires”.

Mr Darlison was of no fixed address and had links to the Newbold Verdon and Wigston areas.
