Ooh-la -latte! French cafe opening

-

A FAMILY from Burbage will be bringing a touch of va va voom to the Hinckley food scene, with the opening of a new French cafe this weekend.

Husband and wife Ali and Paul Lancaster have quit the corporate world to follow their dream of opening Petite Chouette Cafe, based on Regent Street.

The cafe, whose name means ‘Little Owl’ in French, will open its doors to whet the appetites of residents and shoppers alike on Saturday (February 10).

The couple, who have been married for 18 years and have two children, said that they were inspired by their love of France and French culture.

They will be dishing up authentic, high quality and homemade food, using ethically-sourced ingredients wherever possible.

Customers can expect mouth-watering pastries, including croissants and pain au chocolates, as well as homemade soup, tartiflette, patisserie, crock monsieur, cheeses and confit of duck. Drinks will include French wines, coffees and teas.

Ali said: “We will be providing authentic, high quality, all homemade food in a warm, friendly environment (with not a microwave in sight!) and are really proud to be starting this family run, independent cafe bar.

“We really do value family, friends and food and we hope our cafe encapsulates this!

“Our menu will be simple, wholesome and tasty, and where possible using locally produced and ethical ingredients.

“The French genuinely do love for their food.

“They plan their day around mealtimes, and look forward to those moments around the table with family and friends.

“This passion for food and social eating led to the creation of Petite Chouette and we are so excited about bringing our passion to Hinckley and the surrounding area and look forward to welcoming everyone to our little owl cafe.”
