Leaflet has been sent out to many
IN response to Mr Doug Ward’s letter published in last week’s Times, I would like to correct one error. Mr Ward states that: -
“Other than the article in the Hinckley Times this proposed development has not been brought to our attention. It is probable that most Hinckley, Burbage, Sapcote and Stoney Stanton residents are not even aware of the proposals.”
In fact, as a part of the first stage plan consultation, a leaflet distribution to all FVNP residents occurred in Q1 2017, throughout the 10 participating villages from Wigston Parva across to Huncote. Each one carried a copy of the initial DB Symmetry Map and summary details – as far as was then known.
It was made clear that Neighbourhood Plans cannot have a say in National Infrastructure Agency plans of this nature, which are dealt with by the Planning Inspectorate – indeed district and county councils can only act as consultees.
Nevertheless, residents were asked to comment, which they could do on line, or using hard copy questionnaires.
To date no further details have emerged, although it is thought this may well occur shortly.
We will therefore be able to structure our comments on that feed - back information; and whatever further detail is forthcoming. So FVNP residents have been aware of this proposal for some 12 months.
The FVNP group will hopefully, therefore, be as well-equipped as possible to comment, when a detailed application is forthcoming, and the full implications can be addressed. Mike Lee BSc, FRGS, FIDM.
