You can care is the hashtag

-

A CARE company boss is launching a campaign to boost the number of care workers in Market Bosworth.

Nisha Chandarana owns and runs the West Leicestershire office of Home Instead Senior Care, and she hopes to fill 50 carer jobs in the area with her You Can Care campaign.

Her group will be sharing positive stories and offering tips, advice and support for the hun- dreds of people caring for family members in the local area.

The project is intended to raise awareness, banish pre-conceived ideas about what caring is about, and inform people about how rewarding working in care can be.

Ms Chandarana said: “This campaign is important to us because it will show just how much of an impact every CAREGiver can make and what a rewarding career care giving can be.

“We also like to think of the #youcancare hashtag as a show of support and solidarity with the hundreds of unpaid carers looking after loved ones in our local area.

“We’ll be using it to share information and resources too.”

Home Instead Senior Care provides care services for older people in their own homes.

Skills for Care, the strategic body for workforce development in adult social care in England, says there are 90,000 vacancies in the social care sector at any given time.

The country’s ageing population has created a huge need for care services, and Ms Chandarana says the national picture is reflected in the local area.
