Sunday League: Sporting Dynamo secure place in cup quarter final

THE final round of matches took place in the County Premier Cup and Sporting Dynamo ensured their place in the quarter finals with an emphatic 9-1 win over fellow Hinckley side Enderby Social.

They will face Oadby Owls at home in the next stage.

FC Topps exited the competitio­n after going down 4-1 at home to Oadby Athletic with Scott Smith scoring their consolatio­n. In the quarter finals of the County Shield, FC Bacc were beaten by the only goal of the game at home against Fairfield Galaticos while Plough Inn Bruntingth­orpe’s game at FC Iannis was abandoned shortly after the start due to the waterlogge­d pitch.

Rogue Elite went behind early on in their home game against FC Bacc.

In the Bond Street Trophies Premier Division after Sam Estill had given the visitors the lead but they came back strongly to lead 2-1 at the break through goals from Lewis Hopewell and Aaron Nor- man, missing a number of chances in the process.

Bacc started the second half looking to fight their way back into the game but it was Norman with his second which extended the lead for Elite who then took charge of the game and created a number of chances.

FC Bacc reduced the arrears on the stroke of time through Aaron Dann from the spot.

In the PWS Leicester Division One, Athletico Duke continued their unbeaten run with a con- vincing 5-1 win at Topps Reserves.

Connor Pugh led the way with four of the goals but Liam Brody scored the best of the lot with a superb 35 yard chip.

Topps battled hard and Tom Haines scored their consolatio­n in a game where Duke should have added to their total.

Wykin took the opportunit­y to make ground on the leaders with a 6-2 win against FC Topps Reserves after the game had been switched due to the conditions.

It was Topps who took the lead when Ben Betteridge opened the scoring only for Wykin to equalise through Steve Hamlet. Michael Dowell then restored the Topps lead before the break.

In the second half, Wykin took control of the game and secured the win through goals from Ryan Cheshire, Hamlet again, Josh Cheshire. Allan Chamberlai­n and Lloyd Henry with Hamlet also missing a penalty.

Stanton United got the better of Sporting Dynamo Reserves with Jes Adcock and a 25 yard screamer from Dan Poulter giving them a 2-0 win.

AFC Pubwatch hadn’t won since November but they returned to winning ways with a 3-2 win at Coalville Miners. Two goals from Leon Simmons and one from Jack Joyce gave them the points.

They followed that result up with a 4-0 win at Anchor Inn courtesy of two goals from Russell Szulz and singles from Jack Joyce and Rikki Sampson.

In the Printing Works Division Two, Stoneycrof­t took over at the top after a 5-1 win against AFC Barn.

Man of the match Jamie Brewin led the goal spree with further goals coming from Luke Hancock, Liam O’Rourke, Nathan Everton and an own goal from Dan Swainmoore. Steve Billings scored the AFC Barn consolatio­n.

Shilton United slipped off top spot after a close game at The Holywell.

Level 1-1 at the break the match ended 2-2 with goals from Nick Richardson (2) for the hosts with Brandon Brine and Ben Harding replying.

TC Building are closing in on the top three after Corey Simmons and Daniel Toone scored their goals in a 2-1 win over The Holywell. Alex Tustain scoring their goal.

Stanton United Reserves took an early two goal lead at Red Lion after Ryan Goodband and Aaron Johnson with a screamer, his second in six years, had scored.

Red Lion then hit back through Ash Morris and Steve Foster. Goodband with his second and Josh Atkinson then helped Stanton regain the lead only for Carr Craddock reduced the lead at the break.

Ash Morris equalised for Red Lion near the end only for Dave Leeson and Goodband to combine to give Atkinson the chance to score at the death to give Stanton the three points. They followed this up with a 4-3 win at Shilton United.

Pete Stanbridge and Kyle Andrews gave them an early lead following corners before Shilton reduced the arrears.

A fine solo effort from Danny Pickering then made it 3-1 before Shilton again reduced the deficit from the spot. Kyle Andrews then converted a Leo Blaine through ball before the break.

Shilton reduced the arrears ten minutes from the end but Stanton kept their lead thanks to keeper Darren Page. Scorers for Shilton were Ryan Brightwell, Mitchell Clamp and Ben Harding.

The Gravity took an early lead against Red Lion when Noel Gilbert scored but after an otherwise uneventful first half Steve Foster equalised for the Lion for whom Carl Baker was man of the match.

The second half proved goalless, score ending 1-1.

In the County Vase, Stoke Golding went out at the Semi Final stage after losing 4-1 at former Hinckley Sunday side LK United. Kaine Finch scoring their consolatio­n goal.
