Benefit gig in memory of Luke

-

A BENEFIT gig has been organised in the memory of Hinckley musician Luke Tugby who lost his life in a house fire last week.

The concert on March 24 will take place at the Greene King Stadium starting at 7pm and will feature local bands and a charity auction.

Money raised will be donated to the Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance service which was dispatched to the scene in an effort to save Luke’s life.

Organised by Jimmy Clark, the event began as a small gig but received so much interest with around 200 guests expected, the location had to be moved to the Leicester Road stadium.

A Facebook page set up to promote the gig says: “We’re looking to put a couple of established bands on (tbc) and get together a supergroup of musicians who played with Luke in the past to end the night with some classic songs.

“There will be no entry fee but we’ll be asking for donations on the night to go in a bucket with all proceeds going to Luke’s family so please throw a few quid in there.

“Let’s make this a good night in memory of a great guy who loved his music.”

So far bands confirmed for the night ar A House Divided, Finches of Attica and Fractions.

Luke’s brother Peter said all proceeds from the night, which will also include a charity auction, will be donated to the air ambulance.

Anyone with an item they would like to donate for the auction can contact Jimmy on jamesclark88@hotmail.co.uk
