Swimmers net medals
SIX students from Dixie Grammar School represented the Midlands in the ISA National Swimming gala all returned home from London’s Olympic Pool with a medal.
The pupils competed in the competition at the London Aquatics Centre on January 21.
All had earned their place through qualifying at the Midlands ISA Swimming Gala last November.
A medal haul of two golds, three silvers and eight bronze medals as well as year eight pupil Dan Kennedy being named national champion of the year in both the boys’ freestyle and backstroke where he set a new national record.
Christian Fielding, head of physical education at Dixie Grammar, said: “I was delighted with the spirit and effort shown by this team of swimmers from across the years in our school.
“It is always a treat to swim at such an impressive venue and it is of course great to see our pupils continue our tradition of success in this event and represent the Midlands so well.” FULL RESULTS Jack Llewellyn (Year 5) - silver medal in boys’ breaststroke

Dan Kennedy (Year 8) - gold medal in boys backstroke and in boys’ freestyle; silver in boys’ medley relay; bronze in boys’ freestyle relay
Eleanor Partridge (Year 10) - bronze in girls’ medley relay and in girls’ freestyle relay
