New EP for Lorna
SINGER song-writer Lorna Dea is looking for further chart success with her latest EP.
Lorna, from Hinckley has released three original tracks plus a cover of a Paloma Faith tune under the title Comfort Zone.
It’s her second foray into the national music scene, following her first EP, Little Spark, which charted at number 32 in the iTunes Soul and R&B charts in 2016 along with the likes of Blurred Lines by Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke and Al Green’s classic Let’s Stay Together.
Little Spark received a great reception from the public and radio DJs alike, including Mark Forrest of BBC Introducing.
This time around the EP was recorded at Strawhouse Studio in Rugby, and produced by Alexander Hart.
Lorna, whose real surname is Dziombak, said: “My inspirations for song ideas generally come from my experiences or things I observe around me. Comfort Zone has 3 original tracks, written by myself and one cover track.
“My songs are Comfort Zone, Count to Ten and Got my Back along with a cover of Paloma Faith’s Crybaby from her new album.”
Lorna cites Paloma as an influence along with classic soul and Motown and her music has been described as having a “Contemporary mix of steady pop beats with subtle undertones of an organic Motown vibe.”
The artist added: ”I’m a big fan of Stevie Wonder and Al Green, and girl groups like Diana Ross and the Supremes and Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, more recent influences have come from the likes of Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse and Paloma Faith.”
The EP is available to pre-order on iTunes and to stream on Spotify.
