Friends invite park users for tea

CAFE culture is coming to a park in Hinckley.

The Friends of Hollycroft Park are to open a community cafe once a week in the pavilion there.

It will open for the first time on Wednesday April 4 between 10am and 1pm.

Friends chairman Dawn Jeffrey said: “The Friends are excited by this new venture which has been part of our winter planning.

“We hope people will come along and enjoy tea, coffee and a chat.”

People are invited to take along their own knitting, drawing or writing or a game to play with others.

On fine weather days, there will be outside tables provided so that dog walkers can also make use of the service while accompanied by their four-legged friends.

All money raised will be used by Friends to help stage a programme of free community events in the park throughout the year.
