Charity concert for popular performer

A CHARITY concert is to be held in memory of a tenor singer who performed with the Stanley Opera Company in Hinckley.

Vincenzo Sozzo died in 2016 leaving fans and fellow performers devastated.

Known to friends as Enzo, he had performed for many opera socieities throughout the East Midlands.

The concert which will raise money for charity Hospice at Home will take place at the Carillon Rooms, Ashby Square, Loughborough, on March 24 starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £12 and include a buffet supper.

An organiser of the concert said: “Enzo was a wonderful tenor who sang to so many people in and around the East Midlands giving them great pleasure.

“Singing with many Opera Societies including Stanley Opera in Hinckley singing the lead role in Carmen in 1986 and his final lead role with Stanley Opera in Carmen in 2007.

“He also sang in many concerts and as an invited guest with many societies.

“The concert in Loughborough will include past leading ladies who sang with him on many occasions.

“Please come along and enjoy a lovely evening, you would be very welcome.”
