Parking a real problem on Coventry Road

-

THIS is the first time I have written to a newspaper but I feel like I am banging my head against a brick wall.

I have tried a local MP and have contacted the police four times. Neither have the time or the resources (or possibly the inclination!) to help.

I live on Coventry Road in Hinckley and worry about the number of vehicles that park, and sometimes, even drive on the footpath. In particular, there is a flat back lorry that parks close to my address on a regular basis. It is fully on the footpath making it impossible to walk by on the pavement.

I reported this to the police during the recent bad weather but, by the time they responded, the vehicle had gone so there was, apparently, nothing they could do.

I have since reported this to the police a further three times with the response that there was currently a lot of emergencies in the area, therefore no resources.

I regularly have to walk on the road, a very busy road, with my dog in all weather conditions.

when someone is seriously hurt or worse will someone find the resources? I fail to see the point in having rules if we have no resources to enforce them. Hopefully the owner of this vehicle will read this and park his vehicle in a more suitable location and other readers will consider the safety implications of their actions. Coventry Road, Hinckley
