Labour want to spend, spend, spend

-

IF you jumped off a cliff, and were lucky enough to survive, but then before you had even fully recovered, demanded that you be allowed to do it again, the people would be forgiven for thinking that you needed psychiatric help.

Yet this is exactly what Labour are advocating regarding the economy, as they demand a repeat of measures that crashed the economy in the first place.

The Chancellor advises that there is light at the end of the tunnel, but to Labour that is a signal that we must start digging again.

An idiot is someone who thinks that doing the same thing twice will give a different result, second time around. I watched as John McDonald, the shadow Chancellor, accused the Tories of borrowing too much. Is he forgetting that it was Labour that left a note saying, “Sorry; there is no money left “, which was true!

The Tories had to borrow money just to stand still, as a consequence of what had been done to the economy, by Labour, as Labour then accused them of destroying living standards, as a result of austerity, which was an absolute necessity, caused by their (Labour) dogmatic adherence to socialism!

But then Labour announces that they would borrow eye watering amounts, to finance their policies, that have been the cause of Venezuela, going from being a very rich country to bankruptcy and ruined our country!

The Tories command economic respect around the world for what they have done.

In Leicestershire the Lib/ Dems have followed the same line, opposing every cost saving measure by the Tory group, but offering no alternative budget. In Hinckley, the Tories inherited a financially chaotic Borough Council from the Lib/ Dems with an overpaid chief executive.

They have put the council on a secure financial basis, got a new (lower paid) chief executive, with a new more effective, efficient and economic management team, and introduced strategic direction to the authority. And they are delivering.

I have taken issue with the Tories on a few issues, but they have remained tolerant and receptive to me in a truly democratic way, unlike others’ who take a more Russian approach to those who hold different views, and with elections coming up, we cannot afford to be complacent, so I know for sure who I am voting for, and it isn’t rocket science.
