A STALWART of Hinckley’s Concordia Theatre has died at the age of 74.

Charles ‘Chas’ Geary, passed away on March 18 at Coventry University Hospital.

Paying tribute to the lighting expert, the latest edition of the Concordia’s newsletter said: “It is with deepest regret that we record the death of Chas Geary who passed away on Sunday 18th March.

“He was vice chairman of the Pantomime Company and, until November, was Chairman of the Liaison Committee and trustee of HCA.

“Over the years he held many other roles - a mentor to many, a true volunteer in every sense of the word, a very talented, kind and lovable man and friend, who will be greatly missed by all at Concordia.

“Our warmest and most heartfelt condolences go out to Julie and the family.”

Charles’ funeral will take place on April 3 at St Mary’s Church in Hinckley at 2.30pm followed by cremation at Countesthorpe Crematorium.
