What are we getting for our council tax?

-

IN response to receiving my Council Tax Bill for the coming year I find it somewhat bemusing that given the fact our councillors have given themselves a massive 20% pay rise for the coming year followed by a further 10% next year, along with a rise in allowances, question what we actually get for our money.

I notice the Fire Service increase is 2.9% - Police 6.41% - Parish Councils 3.92% and Leicestershire County Council a combined 5.99% along with an increase of 4.1% by H&BBC.

I would like to ask what we are actually receiving for this increase especially form our Police Service as since December 2017 I have reported an incident to them on four separate occasions relating to the same matter and to date have had no response, twice directly to Leicestershire Police and when no response was forthcoming I complained to the Police Complaints Commissioner on a further two occasions and when I eventually received a reply it was to inform me he had passed it over to, wait for it, the very people who never responded in the first place LEICESTERSHIRE POLICE.

We are asked to assist the authorities by reporting crime and anti social behaviour to make Hinckley a better place but it strikes me there is no point when the said authorities cannot be bothered to deal with a complaint or report of a crime if it is going to be passed from one to another with no one accepting responsibility to deal with it.
