HOORAY! It’s the Easter holidays - which means it’s time to enjoy some fun days out with the children.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed for some lovely spring weather, so we can get out and about and make the most of the fantastic activities taking place across the county.

Sat, March 24 - Mon, April 2 - Easter egg hunts and crafting workshops - John Lewis, Highcross, Leicester

John Lewis Leicester will be running the Easter bunny hunt along with bunny bunting workshops and egg colouring in store from 10am until 4pm on March 24, 25, 30, 31, and April 2.

To take part, pick up a leaflet from any till point in branch.

Sat, March 24 - Sun, April 15 - Journey To Mars - National Space Centre, Leicester

Mars is the theme of the Easter activities at the National Space Centre, where you can join Mission Commanders as they journey to the “red planet”.

Drop in to the ObserVRtar­ium, make your own LEGO mini movie and observe, classify and test a variety of space rock samples to search for evidence of life on another planet.

Sat, March 24 - Sun, April 15 - Eggstreme Easter - Twinlakes, Melton Mowbray

The Twinlakes Easter Bunny will be joined by lots of friends for an action packed Easter.

The fun includes the chance to travel through a land of chocolate heaven and see the magic of the world of Easter before meeting the Easter Bunny himself in the UK’s first and only Chocolate Easter Bunny’s Grotto (additional charge applies for children to enter the Bunny Grotto).

All children will receive a large chocolate Thornton’s egg or a build your own bear teddy.

There will also be thousands of egg tokens hidden around the park. Hand them in to the gift shop and exchange for a chocolate!

Mon, March 26 - Sun, April 15 - Easter Bunny Hunt - Bosworth Battlefiel­d

Take part in an Easter Bunny Hunt at Bosworth Battlefiel­d. Simply pick up a sheet from the ticket office, explore the Heritage Centre and Country Park to find the Easter Bunnies, then return to collect your prize!

Cost is £2 per child.

Also, on Saturday, March 31, you can enjoy an Easter Bunny Tea Party.

Running from 2.30pm until 4pm, the event includes afternoon tea with the Easter Bunny, arts and crafts, an Easter photo booth and Easter Bunny bingo with a prize for the winner.

Cost is £9.95 per child. Booking is essential, by calling The Tithe Barn on 01455 291048.

Whilst your child is enjoying partying with the Easter Bunny, you can enjoy an adult’s cream tea for £3.95.

Mon, March 26 - Eggciting Easter - Newarke Houses Museum, Leicester

Children can enjoy craft activities including making Easter baskets, bunny masks and more.

They’ll also be able to meet the Easter Bunny and follow the Easter trail in the museum and historic gardens.

£3 for activities, free entry to the museum.

Wed, March 28 - Peter Rabbit Party - Belgrave Hall, Leicester

The Belgrave Hall gardens will bounce back to life with crafts, trails and storytelli­ng inspired by the classic tales of Beatrix Potter.

You can also meet some adorable Shetland ponies and spring lambs.

The event will run from 11am until 4pm, and the cost for drop-in activities is £3 each.

Wed, March 28 - Polkadot Pottery: Easter Treasures Pottery Painting - Leicester Guildhall

Children can have fun painting pottery animals and Easter themed items.

The pottery will then be taken away to be glazed and fired in the kiln, and returned to the Guildhall for you to collect.

Wed, March 28 - Meet Beatrix Potter characters - Haymarket Shopping Centre, Leicester

Youngsters can meet Q20 Theatre’s wonderful characters inspired by the tales of Beatrix Potter: Jemima Puddle-Duck, Peter Rabbit, Mr Tod the fox and Mrs Tiggy-Winkle.

Children can join in an Easter craft workshop to make the characters, giant carrots and Easter eggs.
