Intruders in home

RESIDENTS in Fenny Drayton had a terrifying experience as they came face to face with multiple intruders in their home.

A loud crash downstairs woke the occupants of a property in George Fox Close, and as they got up to see what was going on they were met by the offenders on the stairs.

The intruders then made off from the property,

The occupants were unable to describe the burglars they saw due to poor light and it is unclear how many people entered the property.

They had set their house alarm before going to bed.

If you saw or heard anything suspicious in Fenny Drayton on April 1 at around 9.30pm, call the police on 101 quoting 567 01/04/18. A PLANNING applicatio­n has been lodged to build a new classroom block at Redmoor Academy in Hinckley.

If approved, the single storey four-classroom block would be built at the Wykin Road site between the academy’s main building and a car park.

Setting out its reasons for the new block, a statement in the applicatio­n from Redmoor Academy said: “Along with other secondary schools in the Hinckley area and across Leicesters­hire, Redmoor Academy has undergone a process age range change that has substantia­lly changed the size and type of school we are - increasing from 550 to 925 students.

“In 2014/15 we applied for a CIF bid for eight classrooms and were unsuccessf­ul. We were given a LEA grant of £150K for internal remodellin­g and the
