THE final round of he DM Floats Silver fish league produce some good catches from Parkers Fishery near Nuneaton.

Top weight on the day was made by Kevin Folwell who pole fished pinkie over ground bait to catch 340 small roach and bream for a 25lb 6oz total.

Geoff Robertshaw finished second with a 19lb 11oz catch while Lee Hanson took third place with 17lb 12ozs.

Section winners were, Kevin Folwell, Lee Hanson and Darren Milne.

With the best four section results from five matches counting overall League winner was Lee Hanson with a five point total.

Kevin Folwell finished second with seven points while Darren Milne took third place with eight points. Alan Grewcock continued his recent good form, following last week’s Nisa midweek Open match win with a runners up place in this weeks match.

Fished on Phase One at Makin’s Fishery, Alan drew the same peg, Lake Two’s peg A20, as he’d fished the previous week.

With strong winds and heavy rain making sport difficult Alan used “bomb and bread” tactics to finish with a 44lb catch of small carp to finish second.

A last minute carp decided the result in Sunday’s Lychgate Fisheries Open match.

Its captor Jonny Harvey swapped between pole and feeder tactics to finish with a winning 35lb catch, with the late carp put him just 14ozs in front of runner up Mark Sidwells who landed around 30lbs of bream and one carp to weigh 34lb 2ozs.

Andy Findley came third with a level 27lb catch.

Higham Lane Fishery regular Andy Stewart enjoyed a good day on the waggler to win the Saturday Open with a 82lb 11oz catch from peg 21.

Dean Hughes weighed 64lb 7ozs to take second place with Dave Hurlston finishing third with a 43lb 11oz catch.

A superb catch of quality bream gave Paul Bates victory in Lychgate Fisheries mid week Open.

Drawn on peg 37 Paul pole fished maggots at six metres to catch fish all day for a 38lb 10oz winning weight.

Steve Oswick finished second with a 28lb 8oz catch again on pole fished maggot from peg 40.

Maynes Lakes mid week Open was a match of two halves.

On yet another wet and windy day Colin Bent caught steadily for the first half from peg 33 on Pool One, but after lunch he struggled for a bite,

Alby Beahl started to catch in the afternoon, and his fish were slightly bigger, and in the end he finished well clear with a 32lb 8oz top catch.

Results; Pool One. First; Alby Beahl. Second; Colin Bent 15lb 14ozs. Pool Two; First; Tony Simonetti 19lb 15ozs. Second; Karl Downing 16lb 7ozs.

Lutterwort­h Angling Club travelled to Makin’s for their latest outing.

Fishing Lakes Three and Four the top two catches both came from Lake Three. Micky Davis made the top catch off the day.

Fishing bomb and bread from peg 10 to weigh 56lb 7ozs.

Runner up Phil Neep fished similar tactics to weigh 52lb 13ozs. Top weight from Lake Four was made by John Thorne with 12lb 13ozs while Chris Moore finished second on the Lake with 9lb 5ozs.

Higham Lane’s Thursday Open was won by Mick Linnett from peg 25. Switching between pole and waggler tactic’s, Mick caught on both to finish with 36lb 12oz. Martin Ireland came second with a 28lb 9ozs catch. Dave Hurlston was third with 26lb 5ozs.

Danny Ross took the honours in Sunday’s Brookfield Open fished at Stoke Golding. Drawn on peg 9 Danny caught 16lb 8ozs of small carp. Ray Lewis finished second with a 10lb 4oz catch from peg 1 with Chris Moore in third place with 8lb 8ozs.

Higham Lane Fishery have an Open match every Thursday and Saturday, draw 9am.

Lychgate Fisheries have an Open match every Saturday, draw 9.15am and every Sunday, draw 11am.

Brookfield have an Open match this Sunday at Stoke Golding, draw 9am.

Mayne’s Lakes have an Open match every Wednesday, draw 10am, fishing 11am till 4pm.

Lychgate Fisheries have an Open match every Wednesday, draw 9am.
