Sparks fly in top of the table match up

-

THE clash between the two teams with the best records to date in the Bond Street Trophies Premier Division saw the points shared as FC Topps lost their 100 per cent record to defending champions Sporting Dynamo.

Goals for Topps came from Adam McNally, Pele Orton and Scott Smith. The clash between the two on the last Sunday of the season at Ibstock United’s ground may well decide the destination of this season’s title.

In midweek, FC Topps travelled to Enderby Social and came away with the points from a 6-3 win.

Ryan Measham (2), Adam McNally, Scott Smith, Tom Smith and Pele Orton on target for Topps.

Jamie Dexter went goal crazy as Plough Inn Bruntingthorpe knocked nine past Enderby Social.

Four up at the break, Dexter helped himself to seven of the goals with Ross Perry and Harry Charlton also on the scoresheet.

In the PWS Leicester Division One, Wykin missed their chance of the runners up spot as they went down to the odd goal in five to Sporting Dynamo Reserves despite a brace from Lee Lovett.

Ullesthorpe are now confirmed runners up to champions Athletico Duke.

A rejuvenated Coalville Miners continued their late season run of form with a 6-2 win at AFC Pubwatch. Scorers for Pubwatch were Andy Courtney and Thomas Dale.

Anchor Inn’s woes continued as they went down 4-1 at home to Stanton United Old Boys. Josh Leadbetter scored two for Stanton with Cal Needham and Ramzi Puttock Green adding their others.

It’s building up to an exciting finish in the Printing Works Division Two as leaders Stoke Golding were held to a 2-2 draw by TC Building.

Corey Simmons and Daniel Toone were both scorers for TC and the result means that next Sunday’s game between Stoke Golding and Stoneycroft could go a long way to deciding who ends up as champions.

A win for Stoneycroft is a must which would leave Stoke Golding needing a point from their final game at Thurlaston Magpies EST who can still mathematically pip the top two for the title if they win all their four remaining games.

Red Lion and Stanton United Reserves both had depleted line ups but managed to share the points from a 3-3 draw. Jonno Fields from the spot, Daz Foster and Matt Angell scored the Lion goals in a game they felt they should have won despite being down to nine men at one point.

The Stanton goals came from Tom Macey, Kyle Andrews and an own goal near the end that gave them a point.

Stuart Heathcote notched a first half hat-trick for The Holywell as they overcame AFC Barn 5-3. Nick Richardson added to the tally with Scott Maxwell confirming the result near the end.

For Barn goals scored by Damien Haswell, Ash Warren and Ivor Watkins. In the week The Holywell travelled to Stanton Reserves and came away with the three points after goals from Heathcote and Alex Tustain in a 2-0 win.

Next Sunday sees the final of the CS Construction Junior Cup when holders Coalville Miners will take on Stanton United OB Reserves at Barwell’s Kirkby Road ground.

Kick off is 10:30.
