THE amazing Andy Findlay completed a weekend double at Lychgate Fisheries as the carp feed despite the hot sunny conditions.

There was a close finish to the Sunday Open with Andy catching 92lb 6ozs of mainly carp from peg 34, winning by just 20ozs! Kerry Dyson weighed 91lb 2ozs from peg 20 to take second place. Mark Sidwells finished third with 72lb 4ozs while Steve Brindley taking fourth place with 66lb 2ozs.

”The Fins” left it late in Mondays Bank Holiday Open, with very little in his net after the first three hours, he feared the worst, but the carp showed up for the last two hours, and using method feeder tactics he finished with 66lbs to complete the double.

Rob Hollis finished second with 41lb 14ozs, Terry Brindley came third with 32lb 12ozs. Dave Ringham included a 5lb 12oz bream in his 28lb fourth place catch.

Lutterworth & District Angling Clubs latest match was at Friezlands Pools at Market Bosworth. Phil Neep lead the way with a 70lb 8oz catch of carp. Colin Clarke came second with 64lb 8ozs and Darryl Moore finished third with 55lb.

Brookfield’s Open match at Stoke Golding was won by inform Alby Biehl who weighed 22lb 4ozs from peg 1. Ian Shirley came second with 20lb 6ozs with Dave Sutton finishing third with 16lb 14ozs.

Higham Lane’s Thursday Open match was won by Mick Linnett who switched between pole and leger tactics to land 44lb 11ozs from peg 3. Steady Eddie Sharrad was at the other end of the lake on peg 13, he used method feeder tactics to land 34lb 11ozs to finish second. Dave Hurlston came third with 33lb 6ozs.

There were plenty of carp moving around the lake before Saturday’s Lychgate Fisheries Open match, but as soon as the contest started the fish proved harder to spot, Steve Brindley didn’t have too much trouble though as he took the honours with a 83lb 8oz catch from peg 38. Andy Findlay, warmed up for the next two matches, finishing second with 59lb 11ozs. Mick Linnett was third place with 40lb 6ozs while Gary Kitching finished fourth with 39lb 12ozs.
