Youngsters boosted thanks to firm help
A FOOTBALL team in Croft is being sponsored by a Hinckley retailer thanks to a link through the company’s PR firm.
Croft Juniors Blues Under-7s have a new all-blue Nike kit as they are being supported by UK Flooring Direct.
Team coach Lee Corden introduced the company to the football team, as he is also director of Advent Communications, which helps promote the flooring business.
The eight-player squad plays in the Leicester and District Mutual League and is taking part in a range of tournaments and festivals this Summer, with an invite to go to Derby County’s training ground in June.
Jason Ashby, CEO of UK Flooring Direct, said: “We are delighted to see our name on the shirts of this talented young team of footballers in the area.
“I am a big football fan myself and I know grassroots sport needs all of the support it can get.
“As a company, we work hard to make this a great place to work for our staff and to also give back to the local community

“We moved to Hinckley in 2017 and wanted to ensure that we are active in the region both in terms of employing people and also contributing the community – this is part of that.”
Mr Corden has been managing the side alongside Peter Kirby for just over a year after completing an FA Level 1 coaching course.
He said: “The new kit looks great – the boys are absolutely thrilled with it.
“We’ve got a few more matches to play this season and then a really exciting summer of festivals and tournaments.
“The boys have come on leaps and bounds over recent months and the new kit is a reward for all of their efforts.”
The team’s home ground is Winston Avenue sports ground in Croft.
