Marathon walk for two good causes
A DAD from Hinckley will take on a gruelling 100km walk in just 30 hours to raise money for the Gurkha Trust and Oxfam.
Errol Brown, 39, will trek across the South Downs with three others on July 13.
Hoping to raise £500, his team, Bloody Sore Feet, will take part in the Oxfam Trailwalker which will raise money for the two charities.
Dad-of-one Errol said: “Trailwalker is an event that is run by Oxfam and the Gurkha trust to raise money and awareness for both charities, that involves teams of four walking 100km across the South Downs coast in under 30 hours.
“It’s a challenge that as I rapidly approach 40 thought would be a great idea to participate in.
“My training regime consists of walking every other weekend when I can across varied terrain and improving my overall fitness at a local boot camp ran by complete outdoor fitness where their new home is at the Hinckley football club in Hinckley and at old Ed’s rugby ground in Nuneaton.
“The team I’m in I haven’t even met yet but have been corresponding via WhatsApp.,”
Errol and his team will be joined by a support team in a van who will provide food and drink at each checkpoint.
