Alarm bells ringing as Town lose

HINCKLEY Town lost at Loughborou­gh Carillon on Saturday making three defeats in succession and sparking cause for concern.

Hinckley won the toss and asked Carillon to bat.

They lost their first wicket with the score on 29 when Clarke was caught of the bowling of Bopodra for 18.

His fellow opener Keshala went just two runs later leaving the hosts on 31-2.

Trimingham and Patel took the score on to 75 when Patel was caught of the bowling of G Singh for 21.

A fifth wicket stand of 59 between Trimingham and Harrison steadied the ship and left Carillion on 134 after 34 overs.

Trimingham was then out, caught off the bowling of Valand for 45.

This brought in K Grobler to the crease to join Harrison.

Although they started slowly they began to build it up and in the last three overs they scored an impressive 50 runs.

Grobler finished 68 not out which included seven sixes and Harrison 54 not out leaving Carillon on 230-4 after 45 overs.

Hinckley’s innings was built around opener K Parmer.

He shared a fourth wicket stand of 62 with J Valand taking the score to 159 and then a fifth wicket of 38 with captain R Sen.

Parmer was out caught off the bowling of Capel for 91 with the score on 197-5.

With four overs left the game was on a knife edge but Hinckley lost three wickets for 13 runs.

The game looked winnable for Hinckley while Sen stayed at the crease but when he was out with the score on 222-9 their hopes faded.

They were bowled out for just two more runs on 224 losing the match by six runs.

Although they gained 11 points from the game it leaves them fourth from the bottom of league one.

Next week they face second in the table Newtown Linford at home.
