Third Sunday Munch this weekend in town

-

CLOSE to 30 food, craft and artisan stalls will descend upon Hinckley this Sunday for the town’s third Sunday Munch market.

Residents are expected to pack out Market Place to browse the popular monthly market, which launched in April and allows visitors to buy handcrafted woodwork, wooden garden planters, artisan breads, jam, cakes and more.

Stalls to this Sunday’s event, which will be held from 10am2pm, include Luxury Mallow, which sells marshmallows, Annie’s Eggs, Acropolis olives, Brockleby’s pies and Nick the Fish.

Parking is free in all town centre council-run car parks on Sundays, while many of Hinckley’s retailers will also be open.

The Ginger Barista will be there selling coffee and homemade cakes, while visitors can also browse handmade dog treats from Kipsters, Pick’s organic meat and burgers, patisserie from Hinckley’s Loqua- cious Baker, healthy snacks by Moovena and samosas and bhajis by Dobson’s Delhi.

Meanwhile, event organisers are searching for local musicians, both young and old, who would like to busk at the event and future markets. There will also be a children’s activity tent, and sponsors are needed for each market.

There is also a free stall for charitable or community organisations who can bring something to the market, such as activities or a tombola.

Sallie Hooper, who organises the event, said: “We have been delighted with the number of customers who have visited us over the first two months and this has enabled us to increase the size and variety at the market and support even more local independent micro businesses.

“This month will be our largest market so far with 28 stalls and growing, offering our customers something new to see every month. So make it a regular date in your diary.”

The fourth Sunday Munch will take place on the same day as the ever-popular Soap Box Derby, on Sunday July 8, and will be held in Argent’s Mead.
