Presenter to host garden party

BBC East Midlands Today presenter and Loros patron Anne Davies is to host a summer garden party at Markham House, near Melton, to raise funds for the hospice.

The exclusive event on Sunday, June 17, promises to provide a perfect summer afternoon with Pimms on the lawn and a mouthwatering buffet, in the grounds of Markham House, home to Sir David and Lady Samworth.

The garden party is sponsored by Leicester’s Westerby Group, which includes Westerby Investment Management and Westerby Trustee Services. Les McLintic, Westerby Group chairman, said: “Westerby are delighted to sponsor Loros. We hope this year’s garden party raises a record amount. Their vital support and care makes such a difference to patients, families and carers.”

Loros raised £10,000 at its last garden party hopes to match, or beat that total this year.

Laura Betts, Loros fund-raising manager, said: “Once again we are hugely grateful to Sir David and Lady Samworth for their generosity.

“All we need is a sunny afternoon to make it absolutely perfect. While we can’t promise the weather, we can guarantee our guests an unforgettable experience with a warm welcome from Anne Davies.”
