Brightening up Barwell!

AN ARRAY of flowers has brightened up Barwell town centre.

The first planters to be installed by Barwell Bloomers were put in place in the top of town, outside the Co op, next to Earl Shilton Building Society and by St Mary’s Church, bearing the group’s logo.

One of the volunteers who helped install the flower beds said many passersby stopped to see what was going on and say thank you.

Jim Buck posted on the Barwell Bloomers Facebook page: “Our planters are out.

“A big thank you to the people of Barwell, everyone who donated, all the volunteers but an extra special thank you goes to our founder David Peace.”

The flower groups spent close to £3,000 in creating and installing the planters, with £450 coming from Barwell Parish Council
