Situation is not looking good for town

HINCKLEY Town’s poor form continued at Oakham on Saturday losing by 62 runs and leaves them 2nd bottom of the table and 12 points from safety.

Oakham won the toss and chose to bat.

They lost their 1st wicket with the score on 27 when Martin was bowled by Ravi Singh for 13.

With the score on 95 Cowley was caught off the bowling of Khan for 26 leaving the hosts on 95 for 2 after 27 overs.

That was as good as it got for Hinckley as opener Vivek Naker and Ed Tattersall put on an unbeaten 167 runs for the 3rd wicket.

Oakham had reached 262 for 2 after their 45 overs. Naker was 199 not out and Tattershal­l 100 not out.

The pair put on an impressive 122 in the last 10 overs.

Facing an uphill task Hinckley replied in attacking fashion keeping well up with the required run rate.

Parmer was out for 22 caught off the bowling of Baker with the score on 31 and Pathan was bowled by Baker leaving Hinckley 59 for 2 after 10 overs.

But then Hinckley slipped to 115 for 6 losing opener Pinto Patel for 45 lbw to Brown.

Although the run rate was increasing, a 7th wicket stand 59 between K Jussab and G Singh helped Hinckley’s cause. This stand was broken when Singh was bowled by Morris for 36 leaving Hinckley 174 for 7.

They finished on 200 for 9 after 45 overs.

Jussab remained 32 not out. Oakham gained 25 points and Hinckley 4.

Next week Hinckley host Kibworth 2nds.
