Changes to menu at Italian

-

AN ITALIAN restaurant in Hinckley has expanded its menu with risottos and a new pizza.

I Due Vulcani in The Crescent complex also added a goats cheese and caramelised onion bruschetta and a fiery chicken dish to its offering.

Diners can tuck into a risotto served in a white wine sauce with parsley, with a Funghi option of mushrooms, truffle oil and parmesan flakes, or a Mare version with mussels, squid, prawns and lemon juice.

The owners said: “Our aim is to deliver a constantly evolving menu, which reflects the variety of the Mediterranean diet.

“We will keep updating our menu in the coming months.

“Furthermore we introducing some from Southern Italy.”

Other fresh additions include a Pizza Truffolina with black truffle, mushrooms, parmesan cheese and rocket, and a Pollo Picante of grilled chicken breast served in a chorizo tomato sauce, with cherry tomatoes and leek.

The eatery also added a splash of floral colour with some planters around its outdoor seating area.

I Due Vulcani opened in March 2018 and is run by husband and wife duo Francesco Canfarotta and Federica Intravaia, and Agostino Panariello.

They chose the name, Italian for The Two Volcanoes, as Francesco and Federica hail from Sicily, home to Mount Etna, while Agostino comes from the Campania region, where Mount Vesuvius is situated.

The restaurant runs pizza making parties every other week on Saturdays at noon, as well as on request for private events, with a minimum of eight people required.

The Saturday event is currently free but booking is required.

The eatery includes a bar and lounge area with sofas, and hanging plant furnishings adorn the ceiling and walls.

It stays open late after dinner service on Fridays and Saturdays until 1pm, with the music turned up for customers to enjoy with their drinks at the bar and in the lounge area.
