New Theatre Players perform Other Desert Cities. This is a delightful comedy and poignant drama by Jon Robin Baitz. Brooke Wyeth returns home to Palm Springs after a six-year absence to celebrate Christmas with her parents, her brother, and her aunt. Brooke announces that she is about to publish a memoir dredging up a pivotal and tragic event in the family’s history—a wound they don’t want reopened. In effect, she draws a line in the sand and dares them all to cross it.

September 18 - 22

Rent the Musical is being performed as a Theatre Fundraisin­g Production. This iconic musical, which is loosely based on Puccini’s opera La Bohème, is set in the early 1990s and tells the story of one year in the life of roommates Mark and Roger and their friends, a group of bohemians, all facing the harsh poverty areas of New York City. While a former tragedy has made Roger numb to life, Mark tries to capture it through his attempts to make a film. In the year that follows, the group deals with love, loss, AIDS, and modern day life in one truly powerful story, where the main messages are friendship and loyalty.

October 1 to 6

The Tinhatters present Made in Dagenham. Inspired by a true story and based on the hit movie, Made in Dagenham is the uplifting musical comedy about friendship, love and the importance of fighting for what is right.

Ceri Dupree performs the Immaculate Deception show.

October 17 - 20

Barefoot in the Park is performed by the Broughton Astley Drama Society.

October 24-27

Shelby’s Golden Memories, 50th anniversar­y show.

November 3 & 4

Take Five (3) is performed by the New Theatre Players Studio. A sequel to the sequel of an evening of variety, with something for everyone. Continuing the theme of our first two shows we will have some old favourites, some future sneaky peeks, some personal choices, and something maybe a little different.
