Samantha to have a close shave for a good cause

-

A WOMAN from Hinckley will be shaving her head for cancer and donating all proceeds to Cancer Research.

29-year-old, Samantha Jones, has lost two beloved members of her family to the disease in the last 18-months.

She felt like cancer was taking her family, one by one, and decided to take the huge step to shave her hair for the charity.

She said: “I wanted to do something to stop cancer from taking my family, but to raise as much money as I could I knew I’d have to do something drastic.

“That’s when I decided to shave my head, I love my hair and die it regularly so I knew it would shock the people who know me.”

Although Samantha says there are many wonderful charities out there, she chose to support Cancer Research because her main aim is to help to find a cure.

She says: “Watching a loved one suffering and in pain and slowly deteriorating is hard and I just want to stop people with cancer from getting to that stage.”

In her attempt to raise money, and bring another person one step closer to a cure, Samantha hopes that she can raise £1000 for Cancer.

She has set up a just giving page for those to reflect on her journey, follow her process and most importantly, help to donate to this cause.

And after shaving her head, Samantha has decided to donate her locks to the Little Princess Trust, who help to make real-hair wigs for children who have lost their hair to cancer or other illnesses.

“Shaving my hair is a massive step and it terrifies me. I am very lucky to have the choice to do this though as others don’t have.

“Hopefully by doing this I can raise enough money to make a real difference, bringing us one step clsoer to a cure,” she added.
