Thanks to those who helped raise cash
I would just like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to those of you who visited our stall for the Charity ‘Dogs for Good’ at the Leicestershire Police Family Fun Day on Saturday 14 July.
Thank you to those generous folk who put money in our buckets, bought some merchandise, or had a go at our teddy tombola/pick-a-stick game. We raised a massive £100.31!
The money raised will go towards training Assistance Dogs for adults and children with a range of physical disabilities, and children with autism; Community Dogs to work with specialist handlers in special educational needs schools and communities; and, enabling the Family Dog team to give advice and support for people to get the most out of the relationship with their pet dog. To find out more about this amazing Charity, visit www.dogsforgood.org. They can also be found on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – just search ‘Dogs for Good’.
I am the co-ordinator of the Leicestershire Support Group for Dogs for Good. Our main aim is to raise awareness, and funds, for this life-transforming Charity – this year is the Charity’s 30th anniversary year, so it’s a special one! Our Support Group is in desperate need of volunteers to help us with our activities, which include can collections, stalls (at carnivals, open days, etc.), talks to groups (from WIs, to Brownies), etc. Most of the things we attend are in the Hinckley area. If you would like to know more, please email me wheeliewitty@icloud. com.
Finally, I would like to thank Leicestershire Police, especially PCSO Julie Hodgkinson, for organising such a fab Event. It was too hot for my new Assistance Dog (Demi) to attend, but I popped down. The Event had a lovely community atmosphere – I loved the bands and choirs. The tributes to little Isla in the bandstand were beautiful. Thank you for your continued support.
