Triumph HQ to host start of charity bike ride

-

BIKE riders are gearing up for a charity ride setting off from Triumph.

The Air Ambulance Ride In 2018 sets off from the Hinckley manufacturer and ends at the Brackley Festival of Motorcycling in Northamptonshire.

Bikes of all shapes, sizes and brands will feature in the convoy, with riders enjoying a look around the Triumph Visitor Experience, Triump store and Triumph 1902 cafe between the sign-in and when they leave.

The event last took place in 2016 when some 700 riders gathered at Bruntingthorpe and rode to the festival, raising £10,000 for the Air Ambulance.

Organisers hope this year’s fundraising total will surpass the previous figure.

Jo Payne, national partnerships manager for the Air Ambulance Service, said: “It is an amazing sight to see such a large cavalcade of bikes.

“We have had great support in the past from all areas of the motorcycle industry and I’m hoping we can raise record amounts this year.

“Motorcyclists are very vulnerable on the roads, and over the years we have had some amazing patient stories of rescues we have attended.

“I know how passionate bikers are about the air ambulance and I really hope they get behind us next month.”

The charity ride is taking place on Sunday August 12 with sign-in at 8.30am and departure at 10.30am.

Riders will assemble at Triumph headquarters in Normandy Way.

Tickets include entry to both the Ride In and the Brackley Festival.

Advanced ticket are £17.50 for a sales single rider, or £35.00 for rider and pillion.

On the day prices are £20 and £40 respectively.

Online bookings for the event will close at noon on Saturday August 11 although riders will still be able to sign up on the day from 8.30am.
