Awards night for school trust
AN audience enjoyed a night of celebrations as local pupils aged nine to sixteen, were commended on their successes at school and in the community.
Thomas Estley Community College hosted an awards evening which celebrated the achievements of some of the children in Success Academy Trust from various Primary and Secondary school across Leicestershire.
The trust helps to acknowledge young people who make significant positive impacts in their school and in the community.
Mandi Collins, Trust Principal, said: “I am so proud of the attitudes and achievements of our learners, many of whom have overcome significant barriers to learning and experiences for themselves and others through determination, hard work and perseverance.”
Amongst those pupils who received Leadership and Character Awards, ranged from a nine-yearold who has shown great strength of character and resilience, after sadly losing his parent this year, and a 16-year-old who has looked out for his peers, encouraging and support- ing them to do their best in exams.
One year-four pupil from Richmond Primary School, described the night as ‘like being in the most amazing cinema with images of our achievements on the big screen’, with another yearthree learner from Hallbrook adding: “I felt really special and important.”
The Success Academy Trust leadership projects and development programmes will continue next year, supporting young people to develop skills for life and work, alongside their academic achievements.
