THE Concordia Theatre is gearing up for a jam-packed Autumn of shows which promise dancing, singing and fun.

The theatre will play host to numerous shows and performances from September through to Christmas.

Kicking off the season will be family drama, Other Desert Cities.

Set during the Christmas holidays in the Wyeth family home in Palm Springs, California, Brooke returns home after a six-year absence, bringing with her the manuscript of her soonto-be published book, revealing details of a decades-old family scandal that her parents do not want revisited.

Described as a classy, grown-up play, Other Desert Cities provides humour and a ‘real twist’ to keep the audience guessing.

This play will run from Tuesday September 4 to Saturday September 8, with tickets starting from £8.50.

The ever-popular Rent is the Thatre’s next fundraising production, being shown from Tuesday September 18 to Saturday September 22.

Set in 1990s New York, and inspired by Puccini’s classic opera La Bohème, Rent features music and lyrics by Jonathon Larson’s much-loved songs including Seasons of Love, Take Me or Leave Me and La Vie Bohème.

As the winner of four Tony Awards, Rent ran on Broadway for over 10 years.

With its message of joy and hope in the face of fear, this celebration of friendship and creativity sets a reminder to measure our lives with the only thing that truly matters - love.

With mature subject matter included within the content, the Theatre recommend that this production not be suitable for audiences under the age of 14.

Tickets can be purchased at £12 or £9.50 for concession showings on Tuesday September 18.

Following this will be the hit musical Made In Dagenham, a night of mysogynistic behaviour, comedy, singing and modern choreography all rolled into one.

See what happens when shop steward Rita O’Grady joins with union rep Albert Passingham to get a better deal for the hard-done-by women of the Ford Dagenham Plant.

Rita leads a strike for equal pay which leads to a grinding labour and political struggle ultimately advancing the cause of women’s rights around the world.

Tickets for this show are already selling fast, with limited seats available for the Friday evening showing. However, tickets are still available for the remaining dates from Monday October 1 until Saturday October 6.

Tickets prices vary between £10 and £13.

On Sunday October 7, the Concordia Theatre will host a one-night comedic performance from female impersonator Ceri Dupree.

Back with a brand new show of constumes, routines, jokes, songs and adult humour, ‘Immaculate Deception’ returns with impersonations of some of the world’s best-loved and most-recognised females.

Look out for the Queen, Camilla, Cilla Black and a host of some of Hollywood and Broadway’s most success- ful female stars.

Bringing a touch of Las Vegas glitz and glamour to Hinckley, this ‘ overthe-top’ one man, 20 woman show, infuses energy, style and showmanship.

Tickets can be purchased at £18, with the show starting at 7pm.

Barefoot in the Park will follow Immaculate Deception from Wednesday October 17 to Saturday October 20.

Written by Neil Simon, this comedy focuses on Corrie and Paul, newlyweds who have just moved into their cold apartment.

Corrie is starry-eyed, meanwhile young lawyer Paul is less enamoured after staggering up five flights to reach their apartment to find that there is no bath tub and a broken skylight.

With odd Bohemian characters occupying the building, Corrie soon learns that real marriage requires more than being barefaced in the bedroom and barefoot in the park.
